Lights Out in Lincolnwood by Geoff Rodney

This book was very different to my expectations, being a family drama rather than a horror (although there are horrific elements). The author focuses on the family dynamics of the Altmans, who on the surface seem to have the perfect life. Each family member has a secret they have been keeping, and those tensions have been bubbling under the surface, until the power goes out across the state and everything comes out. This book is funny, dry and will have you thinking about how your family and neighbours would handle the end of civilised life as we know it. Absence makes the blog post longer…

I’ve been noticeably absent from my blog, YouTube and even my Instagram this last year, for a number of reasons. First of all, the last lockdown badly affected my mental health; it seemed to be never ending, and I started to think I would never be able to go back to work. I love my job.
